These terms apply to every quote, booking and job carried out by Holloway Services ("we", "us"). By accepting a quote or asking us to start work you agree to them. Nothing in these terms takes away any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
Quotes and pricing
We do not charge by the hour. Every job is quoted on inspection, based on what we see on site or in your photos, because no two properties are the same.
- Quotes are valid for 30 days.
- The quoted price is the price, unless the job changes.
- If we find extra work once we start (for example, hidden damage or more green waste than expected) we will stop and talk to you before doing anything that changes the price.
- Tip fees, skip hire and materials are charged at cost unless the quote says otherwise.
Bookings, weather and access
We book a day and an approximate arrival time and will text you if we are running late.
- Outdoor work depends on the weather. If it is too wet or windy to work safely we will move the booking to the next available day at no cost.
- Please make sure we can get to the work area on the day: gates unlocked, vehicles moved, pets secured and anything fragile put away.
- If we arrive and cannot do the work because access was not arranged, a call-out fee may be charged.
Changes and cancellations
Life happens. Let us know as early as you can.
- Cancel or reschedule free of charge with at least 24 hours' notice.
- Cancellations with less than 24 hours' notice may attract a cancellation fee, which will be set out in your quote.
- We may cancel or pause work if the site is unsafe, and we will tell you why.
Payment
Invoices are sent by email or text when the job is done.
- Payment is due within 7 days by bank transfer, card or cash unless the quote says otherwise.
- Larger jobs may need a deposit before we order materials or book equipment; the quote will say so.
- Overdue accounts may be passed to a collection agency and any reasonable recovery costs added.
Our work and guarantees
We take pride in doing the job properly and will come back to fix anything we got wrong.
- If you are not happy with something, tell us within 7 days and we will put it right at no extra cost.
- We hold public liability insurance and carry out tree work in line with the relevant Australian Standards.
- Plants, lawns and timber are living or natural materials. We cannot guarantee how they behave after we leave (for example, regrowth, weather damage or timber movement), but we will always tell you what to expect.
- Any guarantee is in addition to your consumer guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law.
Your responsibilities
- Tell us about anything on the property we should know about: underground services, septic systems, irrigation lines, loose steps, aggressive animals.
- Get any council approval needed before tree removal or pruning of protected trees. We can help you find out what is required.
- Let us know if anyone at the property has allergies or sensitivities to products we might use.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, our liability for any loss or damage connected with a job is limited to redoing the work or refunding what you paid for it. We are not responsible for pre-existing damage, for damage to things we were not told about, or for indirect losses such as lost time or income.
